All Things Live acquires Stand Up Norge

12-12-2019

All Things Live, the leading independent entertainment company in the Nordics, acquires Stand Up Norge, the leading provider of comedy content and live experiences in Norway. The well-known Latter brand is maintained, and the partnership strengthens All Things Live’s market position in Norway and enables the group to export the Norwegian stand up success to the other Nordic countries.

“Stand Up Norge is a well-run company with many talented comedians and great prospects in Norway and beyond. We look forward to strengthening our position in Norway and introducing talents, texts and experiences from Norway in the other Nordic countries,” says Kim Worsøe, CEO of All Things Live Group.

All Things Live was established last year and has swiftly become the Nordic region's leading independent player in live entertainment. The group is supported by Waterland Private Equity and has acquired concert organizer Atomic Soul and Friction in Norway as well as five other leading companies in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The network now has 85 employees, represents over 150 artists and produces more than 3,000 events annually.

“We are pleased that Stand Up Norge joins All Things Live, which has established a leading position in the Nordic live entertainment market in just one year supported by Waterland’s buy-and-build strategy. The addition of Stand Up Norge is a great strategic fit that secures a strong market position and enables the partnership to reach across the value chain and cover ‘all things live’ in Norway. We will continue to support the growth ambitions of All Things Live to leverage the attractive market drivers in the Nordic live entertainment industry,” says Kaspar Kristiansen, Managing Director, Waterland Nordic.

Elina Krantz founded Stand Up Norge in 1997 and the leading venue for comedy performances in Norway, Latter, in 2004. The full-suite entertainment company operates across most parts of the live entertainment value chain, has 17 permanent and 50 affiliated comedians, and will perform close to 1,900 performances this year with an expected turnover of around NOK 200 million. As part of the new partnership, Elina Krantz sells her shares in Stand Up Norge and becomes a partner and co-owner of All Things Live.

“We have achieved a lot in Norway, and we now turn to the Nordics to delight our neighbors as well. We look forward to working with our colleagues in All Things Live aiming to attract even more international stand up stars to Norway while simultaneously offering comedians and copywriters even greater opportunities on new stages in the Nordics,” says Elina Krantz.

The acquisition does not entail changes for customers, partners or employees as market proximity is a key focus area for the All Things Live partnership. The parties have agreed not to disclose price or additional details of the transaction, which is subject to competition authorities’ approval.
